Current Economic Downturn Reflects A More Somber 'Look.'
As the global economy twists and turns in its current state, that state of flux is being reflected in, of all places, this year's Fall fashion offerings. From Target, Kohl's to Macy's, the over the top Dolce & Gabbana and Versace looks are offering a more sombre, no-frill, palette of brown, grey, olive, eggplant and rust. 'Over the top' is 'over the hill' for fashionistas. And that, my friends, is actually a very good thing.
Simplicity is the mindset. Fashion designer, Isaac Mizrahi, in a recent show of Regis and Kelly, claims that women need no more than 10 essential items in their closest! Think of this. 10 key items! Think of the de-cluttering consequences: more space in closets & drawers, less items to be washed or dry-cleaned, less distractions or choices to make..... hmmmm.....more time for YOU. I can certainly do that.
